Arduino Code for LED Strip Matrix

I am trying to build an LED Matrix and I am using an LED Strip with LPD8806.  I already created the basic frame of what I want to do.  You can see it on the attached arduino uno code.  I have the left arrow, right arrow and stop sign to display.  But I can’t make the code to display them one at the time.  I always have to disable the other two before I can display want I want.

Deliverables

What I need is that to be able to display the signal using 3 different switches connected to Arduino Uno.  

— One switch for Left arrow

— One switch for Right arrow

— One switch for Stop sign
