This assignment is worth 5% of your grade. You can either score 5 or 0. In order for you to get the credit, you will have to write a five-page analysis on gender roles in Latin America. You should draw the material for your analysis from Chronicle of a Death Foretold and the live performance “Tres Vidas,” which will be on stage on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 pm at the Little Theatre in Nordhoff Hall (please use the online ticketing system to retrieve your free tickets).

Essays should be five pages long and should consist of a comparative analysis between the lives of the women in Chronicle of a Death Foretold and the women portrayed in the live performance: Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, Salvadoran peasant activist Rufina Amaya, and Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni.

The essay should be well written, following standard rules of grammar and composition, and developing consistent, cohesive ideas over several paragraphs. Your grade will be determined by the clarity and correctness of your writing as well as the ideas you present. The essay is due anytime before noon on final’s day (December 12) on moodle through turnitin. I will not accept hard copies or emailed assignments. No late assignments will be accepted.
