1. Explain how the OSI and TCP/IP Network models use protocols to make data transit across a network.

2. Find examples of the use of at least 4 different types of physical media and discuss why that media was chosen for the particular application.

3. Discuss the advantages of three different network topologies

Part 2 Submission Requirements.

A. A copy of the Database File from the Exercise.
B. A copy of your Data Model.
C. A description of the purpose for your Database.
D. A copy of the Database File you developed.
E. Screenshots (ctrl-alt-print screen, ctrl-v) of your database.

Students first complete an exercise (see attached file) which leads them through the steps of creating a database. Using this experience and what they have learned in the course, students develop an object-based data model for a given business situation.

The model should include the objects, their attributes and their relationships. Each object and attribute should have a description, with the data format and parameters (limits, steps, etc) specified for the attributes. The model will include a written description of why the objects were selected.

The data model will be implemented in a database in 3rd Normal form with sample data and a means of adding and accessing data.
